PUD Chronic Disease Prevalence by Geography - VDH - Virginia

This dataset provides weighted estimates (percent) and corresponding upper and lower confidence intervals of 11 chronic conditions in Virginia by year and by geography (the state, 5 health regions, and 35 health districts). Prevalence estimates calculated from an unweighted sample size of 20 or less responses or with a confidence interval half width greater than 10 for any cell are suppressed. Data set includes prevalence data from 2016 to the most current year for Virginia residents 18 years and older.

The 11 chronic conditions include: Arthritis, Chronic Kidney Disease, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Current Asthma, Diabetes, Lifetime Asthma, Prediabetes, Stroke, Heart Disease, High Blood Cholesterol, and Hypertension. Definitions for chronic disease were based on the questions collected through the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System survey can be found in the ‘About the Data’ section at https://www.vdh.virginia.gov/data/chronic-disease-in-virginia/.
