About this dataset
This dataset provides key affordability metrics for housing, including estimated annual income needed to buy or rent a typical home while keeping monthly payments below 30% of income, affordable home price thresholds, years required for the median household to save for a down payment, and measures of housing costs as a share of income for new homeowners and renters. Values are calculated based on common standards such as a 20% down payment for buyers and the 30% income affordability benchmark.
