About this dataset
This dataset provides state-level estimates of private health insurance spending on personal health care services and products. It is produced every five years by the CMS Office of the Actuary as part of the National Health Expenditure Accounts and reflects spending based on where individuals reside rather than where they receive care. The data include total spending, spending per enrollee, and average annual growth rates, offering a detailed view of private insurance-related health expenditures across states.
