About this dataset
Metadata for Drinking Water Unusually Sensitive Areas (DW USAs). These are high consequence areas, as defined in 49 CFR § 195.450 and 195.6, representing potentially sensitive public water systems. Pipeline operators conducting risk assessments can use drinking water USAs, in conjunction with their pipeline information, to identify areas that may suffer long-term and permanent environmental/resource damage in the event of a hazardous liquid pipeline accident. This data is only available to hazardous liquid pipeline operators for use in formulating their Integrity Management plans.
