Metadata for National Pipeline Mapping System - Breakout Tanks

Metadata for the National Pipeline Mapping System (NPMS) geographic information system (GIS) breakout tank dataset. This dataset contains the location and selected attributes of breakout tanks under jurisdiction of the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA). It is used to support the assessment of risk associated with the nation's hazardous liquid pipeline infrastructure. Distribution of NPMS data in GIS format is limited to breakout tank operators, emergency responders and local, state, tribal, and federal government officials and is subject to data access limitations and agreements. The public can view NPMS data with limited attributes and a limited scale for one county at a time using the NPMS Public Viewer.
