National Tunnel Inventory

The National Tunnel Inventory (NTI) records structural, operational, and safety inspection data for public highway tunnels across the United States. State departments of transportation, federal agencies, and tribal governments submit data to the FHWA annually. The NTI includes over 500 highway tunnel complexes located on public roads and is used for federal oversight, infrastructure safety management, risk-based maintenance forecasting, and national reporting.
