Virginia Statewide Sidewalk Inventory

<p>VDOT's snapshot statewide sidewalk inventory displays the spatial linework of all sidewalk facilities facilities in the Commonwealth of Virginia including those on the VDOT network, locality network, and private sidewalks in polyline format. Facility linework follows the centerline of the sidewalk facility itself and is attributed with various characteristics of each sidewalk link. Attributes include the following:</p><ul><li>Locality location name</li><li>VDOT District location name</li><li>Sidewalk width (in feet)</li><li>Sidewalk surface material type</li><li>Sidewalk segment length (in miles)</li></ul><p>This data layer was created using VGIN's Most Recent Aerial Imagery Basemap and covers sidewalk facilities along the Virginia LRS (Version 25.1) with 100% accuracy and most facilities off of the LRS are captured with 90%+ accuracy. <span style='background-color:rgb(255,255,255); color:rgb(74,74,74); font-family:&quot;Avenir Next&quot;, Avenir, &quot;Helvetica Neue&quot;, sans-serif; font-size:16px;'><span style='display:inline !important; float:none; font-style:normal; font-variant-caps:normal; font-variant-ligatures:normal; font-weight:400; letter-spacing:normal; text-align:start; text-decoration-color:initial; text-decoration-style:initial; text-indent:0px; text-transform:none; word-spacing:0px;'>This GIS layer was originally created based on data from a one‑time statewide inventory collection in 2026 and will only be updated on an ad‑hoc basis when verified information for specific locations become available as well as annually by October 1st per a statewide review of new sidewalk facilities.</span></span></p>
